Inter fans should be ‘relatively confident’ that Lautaro Martinez will not be sold this summer, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Gazzetta.it said there were reasons to be optimistic El Toro would stay with the Nerazzurri, who are hoping to finalise a contract extension in the next two weeks.

Lautaro is very happy in Milan with his partner Agustina and daughter Nina and his desire is to stay with Inter, with his agent Alejandro Camano due in Italy within 10 days to sort his new deal.

Everything will become clear in the next fortnight, the Milan-based publication explained, with plenty of clubs outside Serie A still hoping to sign Lautaro.

Atletico Madrid are the only club to have shown a clear interest in Lautaro so far, the report added, but Real Madrid could line up a big-money offer once they have appointed Zinedine Zidane’s replacement.

Inter would struggle to say no to an ‘indecent’ offer and they must also remain alert to interest from the Premier League, where clubs have financial resources which are far superior to those of teams in other leagues.
