Inter Hoping To Offload Midfielder Arturo Vidal This Summer, Italian Media Claim

Inter are hoping that they can facilitate the transfer of midfielder Arturo Vidal away from the club this summer.

Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Inter CEO Beppe Marotta and Sporting Director Piero Ausilio would welcome the departure of the 34-year-old Chilean midfielder.

Due to the financial situation at the club, the departure of players who are not thought to have a major role at the club going forward is a priority for the club and will play a big role of determining the success of the transfer window as a whole.

Former Juventus and Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal transferred to Inter from FC Barcelona last summer, as he was wanted by then-Nerazzurri manager Antonio Conte.

The Chilean made 30 appearances in all competitions for Inter last season and scored two goals in total, including a vital opener against his former club Juventus in the league.

Even though the departure of Vidal would not necessarily bring in a transfer fee, it would reduce the club’s wage bill.
