Marcelo Brozovic is still overjoyed a month on from becoming a Serie A champion with Inter.

Inter won the Scudetto with four games to spare, ending the club’s 10-year wait for a major trophy after they lifted the Coppa Italia in 2011.

Antonio Conte helped the Nerazzurri blow their title rivals away, before surprising his players by leaving by mutual consent last week.

“After six long years (since I joined Inter) we’ve finally won the title, a reason for which I’m extremely happy,” Brozovic told reporters from Croatia’s training camp today (via FcInterNews.it).

“Beforehand I lost two finals, one in the FIFA World Cup in Russia against France and the other one last season in the UEFA Europa League.

“Finally I’ve enjoyed a success and I hope it’s not the last.”

Brozovic was a critical part of Inter’s midfield this season but the Croatian is ready to go again with his national team at this summer’s European Championships.

“I relaxed for a few days after the season finished and that’s enough for me,” Brozovic epxlained.

“I really feel good, we’ve trained very well from the first day and there’s a great atmosphere in the team.

“Another tattoo if we reach the final? Not if we get to the final, only if we win it.”

Brozovic was out of favour at Inter early in the season, but eventually the 28-year-old won over Conte and regained his spot in the centre of midfield.

“We had a great relationship,” Brozovic revealed.

“If you’re not at 100% with him, you don’t play.

“We did a lot of work during the last two years.”

Brozovic’s Croatia will play Armenia in a warm-up game before they take on Belgium in another friendly on Sunday, where he will be pitted against Inter teammate Romelu Lukaku.

“Lukaku is very difficult to mark, he’s really strong physically,” Brozovic added.

“We need to do our best though, we must fight.”
