Inter plan to offer Marcelo Brozovic and Nicolo Barella new contracts with the Nerazzurri, according to a report in the Italian media.

FcInterNews.it said Inter intended to keep their dynamic midfield duo together for next season, to the delight of new head coach Simone Inzaghi.

Brozovic has been linked with a move away from Inter but the Croatian wants to stay at the club, who are also keen to continue their adventure together.

Inter don’t want to risk losing the 28-year-old for free next summer and are planning to give Brozovic a contract through to 2024.

Brozovic wants €5.5 million for his annual salary, a big rise on his current wages worth €3.5 million plus bonuses, but Inter’s directors will only be able to offer €4-4.5 million.

The midfielder will need to make a concession but both parties want to reach a deal and it shouldn’t be therefore difficult.

Barella is already contracted to the summer of 2024 with Inter, but the club want to reward him for his incredible development during his first two seasons.

The 24-year-old is on course to have his annual salary increased to €4.5 million, quashing any speculation linking him with a move to Atletico Madrid or the Premier League.

Barella has never paid attention to those rumours himself and wants to continue playing for Inter, the club he has supported since he was a child.
