Inter have sung the praises of Nicolo Barella once again after the midfielder won a special award on Monday.

Barella was named Serie A’s best midfielder of the 2020-21 season, having scored three goals and provided nine assists for the Nerazzurri en route to the Scudetto.

The 24-year-old received praise for his all-round pressing, accurate passes and ‘a perfect combination’ of quality and quantity.

Inter responded to Serie A’s tweet which announced the award by adding: “Is it a coincidence that Barella is an anagram for ‘A baller’?

“We think not.”
