With the appointment of Simone Inzaghi has head coach at Inter, the team’s performance will be determined by his trusted staff members as much as the Italian tactician himself.
In yesterday’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, the point is made that Inzaghi’s success at Lazio has come from the hard work of his tactical assistants and fitness coach who arrive at Inter along with him.
Assistant coach Massimiliano Farris is the “shadow man” who plays a large role in allowing Inzaghi to implement his tactical ideas. The Italian coach has taken charge of ten Lazio matches where Inzaghi was suspended from the touchline, and lost only one. He is highly regarded for his skill at both understanding the game and communicating with the dressing room.
Fitness coach Fabio Ripert has been working with Inzaghi since 2016, and Tuttosport emphasizes that the number of muscle injuries at Lazio have declined during the past two seasons.
Mario Cecchi, formerly of Empoli’s youth team, works to implement Inzaghi’s tactical systems with “fifths” or wing-backs, and helps to coach in-game situations.
