Inter are the leading contenders to sign Giacomo Raspadori from Sassuolo, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Tuttosport’s print edition said the Nerazzurri were the most likely destination for the 21-year-old, who scored five times in his last 10 league games during the 2020-21 season.

Raspadori has scored against Roma, AC Milan and Juventus in recent months and is considered a possible successor to Lautaro Martinez at Inter.

His value is estimated at €15 million by Transfermarkt.com, but the Turin-based paper argued he was worth far more than that now.

Raspadori was named last night in Roberto Mancini’s final 26-man Italy squad for the European Championships, confirming his reputation as one of the country’s brightest young talents.

He also played well for Italy’s under-21s on Monday as they lost the quarter-final of their Euros against Portugal, going down 5-3 after extra-time.

Raspadori scored six goals in total for Sassuolo in the campaign which just finished, while also providing three assists.
