Matteo Darmian could be Inter’s only wing-back who stays at the club this summer, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Gazzetta.it said the Nerazzurri were preparing a ‘brutal restyling’ on the wings, partly due to their well-documented financial problems.

Achraf Hakimi is the only big player for whom Inter have received a serious offer, so he could leave with Paris Saint-Germain ready to pay €60 million plus bonuses.

Ivan Perisic is not certain to remain either, because the club want to either extend his contract (which expires next summer) and reduce his salary or sell him before next season.

Danilo D’Ambrosio has extended his contract by another season after Inter exercised an option in his deal, but – as per his contract – the 32-year-old can still leave if he finds a new club before the end of the transfer window.

Aleksandar Kolarov and Ashley Young will definitely be released, meanwhile, with Inter looking forward to offloading their high salaries.

Darmian is the only Inter wing-back who is guaranteed to remain under Simone Inzaghi, therefore, having scored crucial goals in their Serie A title run-in against Cagliari and Hellas Verona.

Hakimi’s departure is described as ‘very probable’, after the Moroccan was offered a monster annual salary by PSG worth €8 million after tax (an increase on the €5 million he currently gets from Inter).

Inter want to increase PSG’s offer by around €10 million, but the situation could change if Mauricio Pochettino leaves after he asked to terminate his contract.

Bayern Munich are also keen on Hakimi along with several Premier League clubs, so a bidding war could ensure over the 22-year-old.
