Inter’s devastating strike partnership could become even more prolific under Simone Inzaghi, a report in the Italian media argued today.

Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition said Inzaghi was ‘a multiplier’ of solutions and goals after enjoying great success with all his attacking players at Lazio.

His first objective will be to improve Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez’s incredible tally from the season which just finished, a key factor in Inter’s Serie A title triumph.

The Nerazzurri are seeking a bit of peace after a turbulent few weeks and Inzaghi’s appointment as head coach is said to be a great starting point.

Inzaghi has already spoken with Lukaku about his plans for next season while he also hopes to keep hold of Lautaro, despite interest from La Liga.

Every striker Inzaghi has coached has produced their best numbers under his management, the Milan-based paper highlighted, and not only the starting players.

Felipe Caicedo was ‘an ugly duckling’ during his first season at Lazio, but Inzaghi was patient with him and now the Ecuadorian forward is a talisman for the Biancocelesti.

He is arguably Serie A’s most dangerous super sub now, unlike Alexis Sanchez who has only provided a contribution for Inter in fits and starts.

Inzaghi is a great coach for anyone with talent, the report argued, because he knows how to get the best out of those players.

Keita Balde, Luis Alberto and Milinkovic-Savic all exploded with Inzaghi in the capital and there is a good chance everyone at Inter could improve with him too.
