Inter’s chances of signing Emerson Royal could become a lot clearer by the end of this week, according to a report in the Italian media.
FcInterNews.it revealed the full-back’s entourage were due in Barcelona in the next few days to clarify his future with the La Liga giants.
Inter are targeting Emerson as a replacement for Achraf Hakimi, who is in talks with Paris Saint-Germain, but the Brazilian wants to stay at Barcelona to fulfill his dream of playing for the Catalan club.
Emerson’s entourage will then arrive in Milan at the weekend and it seems there could be talks with the Nerazzurri on their agenda.
Barcelona’s plans for Emerson could well depend on who they choose as their head coach next season, the report added, with Ronald Koeman not certain to remain in charge.
The Blaugrana could opt to put their faith in him or they might seek a sale to boost their finances, at which point Inter would be in the frame.
Emerson spent last season playing for Real Betis but he returned to Barcelona this week, and now it’s time to find out whether he is back for good.
