Emerson Palmieri encouraged reporters to stop discussing his future today amid reports he could join Inter.

Inter are known to be interested in signing the Chelsea full-back after identifying him as their main target for the left wing-back spot.

Emerson is out of favour in West London and is expected to leave Chelsea, with only one year left on his contract.

However, the 26-year-old told reporters at a press conference today (via TuttoMercatoWeb): “Lots of people are talking about the mercato and my return to Serie A, but I don’t even want to think about it at the moment.

“I’m honestly not interested, I’m living in the present and I want to focus on playing Euro 2020 and winning it (with Italy).

“I’m living my dream of playing in the Euros, it’s always been my aim to get here.

“Now I’m at this level but I’m not satisfied, I want to give my best and win the Euros.”

Emerson made 15 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea in the 2020-21 season, scoring just once during a 2-0 win over Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League.

Inter boss Simone Inzaghi has reportedly approved a move for the former Roma full-back, while Napoli appear to have withdrawn their interest.

The Nerazzurri are also keen on a move for Filip Kostic at Eintracht Frankfurt, but Emerson seems to be a more affordable option – although even Chelsea want €20 million at the moment, according to reports.
