Inter can’t announce Simone Inzaghi’s backroom staff today due to a standoff with Lazio, a report in the Italian media has revealed.

Tuttosport’s print edition said Lazio president Claudio Lotito was continuing to make a nuisance of himself after Inzaghi turned his back on him last week, changing his mind to accept Inter’s offer.

Inzaghi wants to bring his assistant coach Massimiliano Farris to Inter, along with fitness coaches Fabio Ripert and Alessandro Fonte.

He will also keep match analyst Ferruccio Cerasaro and technical collaborators Mario Cecchi and Riccardo Rocchini, but all of them will have to wait for their jobs to be confirmed.

Inter officially confirmed Inzaghi’s appointment today on a two-year deal, replacing Antonio Conte who left the club by mutual consent last week.

Conte is in talks with Tottenham Hotspur over a return to the Premier League, where he coached with Chelsea before coming to Inter in 2019.
