Inter are on the verge of selling Joao Mario to Sporting CP, according to a report in the Portuguese media today.

Record (via FcInterNews.it) said Sporting CP had almost completed a deal with the Nerazzurri, beating competition from Besiktas, Spartak Moscow, Ligue 1 clubs and some teams in Saudi Arabia.

Inter want €8 million for Joao Mario while Sporting CP are up to €6-7 million with their offer, so the parties have almost agreed a fee.

Talks will accelerate in the next few hours and the 28-year-old will get his wish of staying in Lisbon, having helped Sporting CP win their first Liga NOS title since 2002.

Joao Mario’s deal is about to be sorted thanks to the mediation work of Federico Pastorello, an intermediary figure in the clubs’ talks.

Inter will sort the final details of their agreement with Sporting CP soon, while there is not expected to be any problem regarding Joao Mario’s salary with the Portuguese champions.
