Marcelo Brozovic has revealed he finds it ‘very easy’ to play with Inter and Croatia teammate Ivan Perisic.
Both players were key figures in the 2020-21 season as Inter won their first Serie A title in more than a decade, thanks to a terrific second half of the season.
Brozovic regained his spot in Antonio Conte’s midfield after a slow start, while Perisic nailed down a place at left wing-back from January onwards.
“I’ve known Perisic for a long time and it’s much easier for me to play with him (than with others),” Brozovic told Croatian news outlet Nova TV on Wednesday (via FcInterNews.it).
“We have lots of exciting young players with Croatia though, and I can play well with anyone up front, so there’s no problem.”
Croatia will be in Group D at the European Championships where they will be pitted against England, Scotland and the Czech Republic.
“We have the same feelings as we did at the FIFA World Cup in Russia (where Croatia reached the final),” Brozovic assured.
“Let’s see where this will take us in our matches.
“The most important thing is to approach the games well, because if we do that we can go far.”
Brozovic is out of contract with Inter next summer and seems likely to begin talks over a new deal in the coming weeks, although Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly interested in snapping up the 28-year-old.
Perisic also has 12 months left on his deal with the Nerazzurri, but there is no talk of a fresh contract coming his way at the moment.
Both started for Croatia on Tuesday as Zlatko Dalic’s side drew 1-1 in a Euro 2020 warm-up match against Armenia.
