Ivan Perisic is considering a return to the Bundesliga, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Tuttosport’s print edition said the Inter wing-back was intrigued by the idea of moving back to Germany, where he most recently won the treble with Bayern Munich last year.

Inter would not be disappointed to lose Perisic because the Croatian is earning €4 million annually, making for a total cost before tax of €7.4 million.

Perisic is only ‘adapted’ in the wing-back spot and is therefore a luxury on that salary which Inter would prefer not to pay.

Inter won the Serie A title last month and Perisic could decide that the mission Antonio Conte asked him to carry out is now completed, the report suggested.

The Nerazzurri are going to lose a lot of strength on the right wing when Achraf Hakimi leaves, so they could look to make a big investment on the other flank to soften the blow.

Perisic’s departure could potentially help Inter finance that signing, whoever it might be.
