Simone Inzaghi is already busy planning Inter’s transfer campaign after being appointed their new head coach today.

Gazzetta.it revealed Inzaghi continued transfer talks with club directors over lunch, having already discussed ideas with Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio over the phone last week.

Inter have been reassured by Romelu Lukaku that the forward is staying and now Inzaghi can focus on finding reinforcements in the wing-back positions.

Achraf Hakimi is heading out – along with Ashley Young and Aleksandar Kolarov – as Inter look to raise funds, and Chelsea’s Emerson Palmieri is the club’s first target to replace the Moroccan international.

Inzaghi was officially confirmed as Inter’s new head coach today and spent five hours getting to grips with the club’s training facilities at Appiano Gentile.

He was due to meet Steven Zhang for talks about the club’s plans, but Zhang wasn’t there because it has emerged he already met Inzaghi in secret a few days ago.

Inter will present Inzaghi to the media in July when they begin pre-season training, and Inzaghi won’t even speak to Inter TV for now.
