Antonio Conte wants to poach Milan Skriniar away from Inter, according to a report in the UK today.

As per The Sun, Conte is in advanced talks to become Tottenham Hotspur’s new head coach after leaving the Nerazzurri last week.

Spurs have a dire need to address their defensive shortcomings and Skriniar is the first player ‘tipped’ to move to the Premier League side.

Inter already received interest from Tottenham last summer, but now they could take advantage of the club’s financial problems to secure a deal for the Slovakia international.

Conte is likely to use his tried and tested 3-5-2 system if he joins Tottenham and Skriniar has already proven he can play in that system.

Skriniar used the 2020-21 season to adapt to Conte’s three-man defence and ended up being a key player in Inter’s march to the Serie A title.

If Tottenham wanted Skriniar before Conte arrived, they would surely only increase their interest in the 26-year-old if his appointment were confirmed.
