Inter could be set for a transfer derby with AC Milan for Emerson Royal, according to a report in the Italian media today.

The Nerazzurri have identified the Barcelona full-back as a possible replacement for Achraf Hakimi, who is expected to join Paris Saint-Germain.

However, in a column for William Hill, Gianluca Di Marzio has revealed AC Milan are also keen on the 22-year-old and are offering the Catalans a swap deal.

The Rossoneri want to sign Emerson Royal in exchange for Alessio Romagnoli, but Barcelona have rejected the offer.

Barcelona recently re-signed the Brazilian after two years at Real Betis and they want €25 million in order to sell him.

AC Milan remain an option that shouldn’t be excluded, although Barcelona have now rejected the idea of a Romagnoli swap deal on two separate occasions.

Emerson is only one of the names being linked with Inter as they chase a successor for Hakimi, with others including Davide Zappacosta, Nahitan Nandez and Manuel Lazzari.
