Inter want to cut their losses on Arturo Vidal and move him out, according to a leading Italian journalist.

Vidal joined the Nerazzurri from Barcelona last summer but has failed to live up to expectations, being relegated to the bench during the second half of the season.

The Chile international, who tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday, seems to have little future at the club despite having two years left on his contract.

Speaking to Calciomercato.it earlier this week, Inter fan Fabrizio Biasin said: “Inter want Vidal to leave, for the simple reason that they know they made a mistake to sign him.”

In addition to offloading Vidal, another priority for Inter is to find a replacement for Achraf Hakimi at right wing-back.

However, Biasin poured cold water on two of the players whose names have been most persistently linked with the Nerazzurri.

“A lot of people have spoken about Alessandro Florenzi but I honestly don’t think he will come,” he revealed.

“If you ask me, Emerson Royal isn’t the likely arrival either, not least because Inter need to sell Hakimi before assessing this issue.”

Biasin also offered an update on Inter’s supposed interest for Sassuolo striker Giacomo Raspadori, who is likely to become a very prized asset in the transfer window.

“Inter are not interested in Raspadori,” he added.

“I called Inter to ask and they confirmed they appreciate the player, but at the moment they haven’t even made an enquiry.”
