Nicolo Barella has interest from several top European clubs but the Inter midfielder is going nowhere, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition said Carlo Ancelotti was ‘crazy’ for Barella and would ask Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to make an approach for him.

Bayern Munich are prepared to offer €70 million for the 24-year-old, while Atletico Madrid, Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool are also interested.

However, Inter will respond with a ‘no thank you’ and are preparing to offer Barella, who loves the Nerazzurri, a contract extension.

Inter and Simone Inzaghi view Barella as being central to their project, although it makes sense that his agent Alessandro Beltrami will try to use the interest to secure a new deal.

Barella ‘only’ earns €2.5 million annually until 2024 at the moment, a figure his suitors would be prepared to triple, so Inter need to reward him for his performances with a pay rise.
