Simone Inzaghi is very eager to keep Marcelo Brozovic at Inter, according to a leading Italian broadcaster today.

Sky Sport Italia (via FcInter1908.it) said Brozovic would be central to Inzaghi’s 3-5-2 system with the Nerazzurri, just as he was under previous boss Antonio Conte.

Inzaghi began explaining his ideas for next season when he met Inter’s directors at Appiano Gentile yesterday, in his first official day as the Nerazzurri’s head coach.

He then went for dinner at the Sheraton hotel in Milan and continued discussing transfer plans with Steven Zhang and other officials.

Inzaghi knows Inter will need to sell a key player because the club need funds to balance their finances, the report continued.

After that, he will be asking Inter to give him four wide men for his wing-back positions – and only one of those spots is filled at the moment, by Matteo Darmian.

Achraf Hakimi, Aleksandar Kolarov and Ashley Young are all leaving while Ivan Perisic’s future has not been sorted yet.

Emerson Palmieri and Emerson Royal are the two players Inter are considering signing, although they will also look for versatile players who are capable of playing on both flanks.
