Nicolo Barella has received some differing reviews from various Italian print media outlets after his performance for Italy on Friday night.

The Inter midfielder impressed many watching on during the 4-0 victory over the Czech Republic. The game was an international friendly designed to help prepare the squad for the upcoming UEFA European Championship.

Whilst the Czech Republic are a side Italy should be beating, the Azzurri made impressively light work of the Czech’s with goals from Ciro Immobile, Domenico Berardi, Lorenzo Insigne, and Nicolo Barella.

La Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport both decided that Nicolo Barella’s performance was worth a 7 out of 10 rating.

For Tuttosport however, they were not so impressed. They decided that the Sardinian’s performance was only worthy of a 6.5 out of 10 rating, clearly feeling that the 24-year-old did not influence the game as much as he should have done.

Regardless of the ratings, Roberto Mancini will be very happy with his team’s performances heading into the tournament.
