Inter’s Moroccan right-back Achraf Hakimi has been named in the African Team of the Year for the 2020/21 season, as reported by French media today.

The team of African players was drawn up by France Football, and names Achraf Hakimi as the best right-back in football who comes from an African country.

The Moroccan is likely going to become one of the most expensive players in the world during this summer’s transfer window, as he is being chased by both Paris Saint Germain and Premier League side Chelsea.

Paris Saint Germain have agreed on personal terms with the player, which would see him earn €8 million per season.

The transfer is being delayed though as Inter and the Ligue 1 side are currently €10 million apart in their valuation of the player.

Inter do not want to sell for less than €80 million, whereas Paris Saint Germain’s last offer was for €70 million plus performance-based bonuses.
