Jose Mourinho has been discussing the quality of Inter striker Romelu Lukaku ahead of the UEFA European Championships this summer, English media reports.

Whilst writing for The Sun in England, the former Manchester United and Inter manager was discussing the quality of the Belgium squad ahead of the tournament this summer.

Inter’s Romelu Lukaku played under Jose Mourinho whilst at Premier League side Manchester United, but the striker failed to quite reach the levels many expected from him after the £75 million transfer from Everton. That is what led to him eventually being signed by Inter.

Since joining the Nerazzurri, Romelu Lukaku has reached new heights and was crowned the Serie A MVP in Inter’s title-winning campaign this year.

Jose Mourinho is clearly very aware of the new levels of quality that Romelu Lukaku has reached in Italy, noting the evolution he has gone through.

“Romelu Lukaku is a scorer who has had an incredible evolution in two years with Inter.”

Jose Mourinho will also be keeping a close eye on the Roma players in the Italy squad, who are Leonardo Spinazzola, Bryan Cristante, and Lorenzo Pellegrini.
