New Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi is going to focus on building his new Inter team around four key players, according to a report in the Italian media today.
As has been reported by Tuttosport, the key defender in the side will be Dutchman Stefan de Vrij. Despite the obvious quality of Milan Skriniar and Alessandro Bastoni, Stefan de Vrij is the defender Simone Inzaghi values most.
In the midfield, the most important players will be Marcelo Brzovic and Nicolo Barella. The latter has fast become one of the best dynamic midfielders in world football, and Simone Inzaghi is well aware of this. Marcelo Brozovic meanwhile has years of experience running the Inter midfield.
Finally, the attack will be spearheaded by the club’s top scorer last season, Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian striker reached new heights in 2020/21, as he was crowned the Serie A MVP and played a key role in Inter winning the Scudetto.
Despite the other quality players within the squad, those three will be the core of the group that Simone Inzaghi will aim to build success around.
