Barcelona’s Emerson Royal is Inter’s first-choice right-back to replace Achraf Hakimi this summer, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport, the Barcelona youngster would be the ideal signing if Achraf Hakimi’s move to Paris Saint Germain does materialise in the coming weeks.

Emerson Royal has spent the last two seasons on loan at Real Betis from Barcelona, racking up 73 appearances and scoring four goals. He has never actually played a senior game for his parent club.

The 22-year-old Brazilian has played once for the national team and has played consistently for the youth squads.

It is not yet clear whether Barcelona would entertain the idea of selling Emerson Royal and if they decide that he is part of their plans, cheaper options could include Chelsea’s Davide Zappacosta or Cagliari’s Nahitan Nandez.

It is believed Achraf Hakimi’s move to Paris Saint Germain is being held up by a €10 million difference in valuation.
