An ex-Inter player has revealed that he thinks Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is the player Inter need to sign this summer, according to a report in the Italian print media today.
In an interview with Tuttosport, Giuseppe Bergomi discussed many different factors about Inter’s current situation, including the Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
“I like physical players, he then scores with a header and a free-kick. Changing environment would then find new incentives to do well, for me he is the most important player to bring to Inter.”
The ex-Italy player also went on to talk about some of the current Inter players including Stefano Sensi, who recently suffered an injury which means he will miss the UEFA European Championship this summer. He was replaced in the squad by Atalanta’s Matteo Pessina.
“Sensi? We are talking about a boy who is unable to heal and have continuity of performance and training.”
One Inter midfielder who will feature for the Azzurri at the European Championship is Nicolo Barella, who scored Italy’s second in a 4-0 win over the Czech Republic on Friday night. It is clear that Giuseppe Bergomi is a fan of the Sardinian.
“Barella has been awarded by everyone, he is a world-class player.”
Finally, the man who made 519 appearances for Inter suggested that Alessandro Bastoni must be ready to fill in for Italy when some players inevitably get suspended.
“Bastoni I think maybe initially he won’t find space but it is useful for the group. The power stations are always at risk of a yellow card, so the opportunity will come and he must be ready.”
