Inter’s Christian Eriksen has discussed what it was like to win the Serie A title without there being any fans to celebrate with, according to a Danish media outlet.

During the interview with Danish website Berlingske he, Christian Eriksen spoke of how much he is looking forward to both layers with fans, and the UEFA European Championships this summer.

Despite enduring a very difficult start to his time at Inter after moving from Tottenham Hotspur, Christian Eriksen became a key player in Antonio Conte’s title winning side. Despite that, he still would have preferred there to be fans.

“You play, obviously, to win for your club, but you also play to entertain the fans. At least I missed the fans very much. I can only say that celebrating a championship without fans is also boring.”

When discussing his time at Inter as a whole, the attacking midfielder eluded to the fact that he was very much out of favour to begin with, and was very close to leaving the club.

“It’s been a great ride on a roller coaster, up and down. You’re hungry to have to win even more, whether it’s with Denmark or Inter. The winner wants more.”

It is also clear that Christian Eriksen can’t wait for more success, specifically with Denmark at the upcoming Euros this summer.

“It will be very, very special. So special because it is a final phase that we will play in Denmark and especially at the Parken Stadium.”
