Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen has revealed that he joined the club so that he could win the Scudetto, having lost three finals in his career, according to a Danish broadcast earlier today.

Whilst speaking to Danish outlet Fyens Stiftstidende, Christian Eriksen showed that he has achieved exactly what he planned to when he made the decision to leave Tottenham Hotspur for Inter.

“My intention when I chose to go to Inter was to win a Scudetto, and I did it after a year and a half, so I’m incredibly happy about it.”

The Danish midfielder has lost three finals in his career, including the UEFA Champions League final against Liverpool in 2019. He spoke about how liberating it felt to win the Serie A title after so much heartbreak.

“Before this victory, I had lost three finals, and losing a final is never fun. So winning gives a liberating feeling and more confidence in doing things. The more you win, the more you want to do it.”

Christian Eriksen also discussed how he wants to look back on his career and see beyond just the trophies he has won. He wants to know that he had fun playing football and achieved his goals in the process.

“As a football player, when you think back to yours. career afterwards, often it’s about what you have on your resume. But in the end, for me, it’s still about having fun playing football, and you have even more fun when you win.”

His Denmark team will be hopeful of reaching the knock-out stages of this summer’s Euros.
