Inter could soon have a bidding war on their hands for Achraf Hakimi, according to a leading Italian broadcaster.

The Nerazzurri were widely expected to sell Hakimi to Paris Saint-Germain this month, but the clubs have yet to reach an agreement.

Rai Sport reporter Ciro Venerato claimed on Domenica Sportiva last night (via FcInter1908.it) that Chelsea have joined the race and they have a secret weapon up their sleeve.

Chelsea are ready to offer Emerson Palmieri to the Nerazzurri in order to secure Hakimi’s signature.

Inter want to keep the two deals separate, because they need Hakimi’s sale to be recorded on their financial year ending June 30.

It therefore seems unlikely they would agree a part-exchange deal with Chelsea, but it is clear the Blues are on the march to snatch Hakimi away from PSG.

The Ligue 1 runners-up have not increased their offer yet from €60 million, but Inter CEO Beppe Marotta is still demanding €80 million.
