Simone Inzaghi is ‘satisfied’ with the state of Inter’s squad, according to a report in the Italian media.

FcInterNews.it said there was a relaxed and optimistic mood when Inter’s directors explained their prospects for the transfer window to Inzaghi on Thursday night.

Inzaghi met Inter president Steven Zhang for the first time along with the club’s managers, and he was given an overview of what lay ahead.

Inter were direct with Inzaghi and warned him that there could be surprises, negative or positive, lurking around the corner.

Inzaghi is happy with Inter’s current squad, assuming Achraf Hakimi leaves to join Paris Saint-Germain as is widely expected.

It is no surprise to hear this, the report argued, because Inzaghi uses the same 3-5-2 system deployed by Antonio Conte and this allows him to continue without too much tactical change.

Hakimi’s sale could be the only big sale Inter complete this summer, but there is no guarantee at the moment because they could receive a huge offer at any given moment for another star player.

Lautaro Martinez is a prime example of someone who could leave for the right offer, while other players – Alexis Sanchez, Arturo Vidal and Ivan Perisic for instance – could leave to help Inter reduce the wage bill.
