Inter are hoping to lower Chelsea’s asking price for Emerson Palmieri, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Tuttosport’s print edition said the Premier League side still wanted €20 million to sell the wing-back, who is out of favour in West London and only has one year left on his contract.

Inter think Chelsea’s valuation is too high but they are prepared to offer up to €15 million, bonuses included, if they can offload other players first.

Achraf Hakimi’s likely departure, along with sales for Joao Mario, Radja Nainggolan and Dalbert, would help the Nerazzurri launch a stronger offensive for Emerson.

Filip Kostic is an alternative to Emerson if Inter drop their interest for the 26-year-old, the report added, despite the Eintracht Frankfurt full-back costing even more (€30 million).

Reports in Germany have suggested the Bundesliga club could be interested in Valentino Lazaro, a player Inter value at €15 million, and this could help the clubs find a more favourable deal.

Elsewhere, Inter also have the option of pursuing a deal for Ajax full-back Nicolas Tagliafico.
