Inter are in a hurry to give Marcelo Brozovic a new contract, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Corriere dello Sport’s print edition said the Croatian had become a priority for the Nerazzurri after Simone Inzaghi made it clear he wanted to use Brozovic as a key player.

Brozovic is currently out of contract with Inter in 2022, but the club will ignore offers for him and instead look to tie him down to a three-year deal (until 2024).

Inter hope to reach an agreement with his father, who is acting as Brozovic’s agent for now, for an annual salary worth €4-4.5 million.

Lautaro Martinez is also due to get a new three-year deal with Inter, the report added, but his future depended on what offers would arrive and what he wanted to do.

Atletico Madrid do not have huge economic resources to use this summer but they have just extended Diego Simeone’s contract as head coach, and Cholo is a big admirer of Lautaro.

Lautaro’s agent Alejandro Camano is waiting to find out if there will be anything serious coming from Spain, otherwise he will seek slightly better terms on El Toro’s new deal with Inter.

Inter will work on a contract extension for Nicolo Barella next season, while Stefan de Vrij’s agent Mino Raiola expects a new deal for the defender as well.
