Inter are finding it very difficult to generate interest for Arturo Vidal, according to a report in the Italian media tonight.

Calciomercato.com said the Chilean midfielder was inevitably not a key part of Simone Inzaghi’s plans for next season, after a disappointing first season with the Nerazzurri.

Vidal is due to earn €6.5 million after tax for another season at Inter, so he is a player the club would like to offload as they try and reduce the wage bill.

However, apart from a preliminary approach from Marseille and a timid link with Club America, there is virtually no interest in the 34-year-old.

Inter are hoping they will find a club who can take on Vidal’s hefty annual salary, while the transfer fee wouldn’t be a problem because they signed him virtually for free from Barcelona.

This means they will not record a loss on Vidal even if he is released for free, so they simply need a club that will take the midfielder off their hands.
