Romelu Lukaku is in the form of his life, according to Belgium boss Roberto Martinez.

Inter won the Serie A title last season thanks to an extraordinary campaign from their star striker, who scored 24 goals en route to the Scudetto.

Lukaku is now ready to lead Belgium to glory at Euro 2020, where they will make their debut on Saturday against Russia.

“I’ve seen a change in Lukaku from August last year,” Martinez told reporters from the Red Devils’ training camp (via Voetbalkrant).

“He’s reached a new level on the pitch.

“Lukaku has always known how to score goals, but now he’s improved with the decisions he makes and the awareness of his own ability.

“This is the best version of Lukaku I’ve ever seen!”

Lukaku has scored 60 goals for his country in 93 appearances, the shortest time required for any Belgium player to reach 60 goals with the senior team.

He was linked strongly with a move to Chelsea in the last couple of weeks, but the 28-year-old quashed those rumours recently when he told reporters he would stay at Inter.

Lukaku joined the Nerazzurri from Manchester United in the summer of 2019 and has developed into one of world football’s greatest strikers during that time.

Antonio Conte was crucial in helping Lukaku make such big improvements, but the Belgian is set to stay for another season despite Conte’s departure from Inter.
