Even though the financial situation at the Camp Nou is known to be problematic, Barcelona’s directors are still reportedly considering blockbuster attacking signings, including Inter’s Lautaro Martinez.

Today’s print edition of Barcelona-based newspaper Sport report that Barcelona are attempting to sell players including Ousmane Dembele  and Antoine Griezmann in order to fund a major attacking signing.

It is thought that the Blaugrana’s number one target in attacking areas is Norwegian international Erling Braut Haaland, but negotiations have not progressed very far between Barca, the player’s agent Mino Raiola, and his current club Borussia Dortmund.

Haaland is one of the most valuable players in Europe and Borussia Dortmund have so far refused to negotiate for his sale despite good relations between Raiola and Barca president Joan Laporta.

Barca may consider Inter striker Martinez as a more realistic alternative, as the 23-year-old Argentine would likely cost significantly less than Haaland; however, as of yet no concrete offer has materialized and any deal would be contingent on the Balugrana raising funds through sales.
