Inter are working towards a contract extension with youth team prospect Riccardo Boscolo Chio that would see the 19-year-old Italian midfielder stay in Milan until 2023.

FCInterNews are reporting that Chio is considered to be one of the jewels of Inter’s current youth setup, and that his renewal is part of the agenda for the Nerazzurri in the coming weeks.

While much media attention has focused on the fate of high-value superstars such as Lautaro Martinez and Achraf Hakimi in light of Inter’s difficult financial situation, young players from Armando Maradona’s Under-19 team are also considered potentially important to the club’s plans in the coming seasons.

Chio has made twelve appearances for the Primavera side so far, and will look to the examples of players such as Andrea Pinamonti, Alessandro Bastoni, and Federico Bastoni who have worked their way through Inter’s academy system and are now considered to be highly exciting Serie A prospects.
