Emerson Palmieri is reportedly Inter’s number-one target to bolster the left-sided role in the squad under incoming coach Simone Inzaghi, and he may be attainable for the Nerazzuri given his contract situation at current club Chelsea.

Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport report that with the Italian’s deal with the Blues set to expire in 2022, the English club may be willing to listen to reasonable offers.

Inter CEO Beppe Marotta and sporting director Piero Ausilio would be happy to exploit this fact, as they consider Emerson to be a major target especially given the fact that he has Serie A experience and may be looking for a change of scenery.

Under new manager Thomas Tuchel, Palmieri has fallen behind the likes of Ben Chilwell and Marcos Alonso as the club have marched to an impressive Champions League win.

Inter on the other hand will be able to promise him regularly football, and this coupled with the fact that this summer represents one of the last opportunities for Chelsea to cash in on the player suggests that Inter may be able to sign him.
