One key target considered for Inter to replace Achraf Hakimi with should the latter depart for Paris Saint-Germain is Barcelona fullback Emerson Royal, but a transfer for the Brazilian is unlikely.

Today’s print edition of Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo claim that Emerson is a player who Barcelona will be relying on as a squad member for the upcoming season, so it is unlikely that the Catalan club will be moved by any offer submitted by Inter.

Emerson has returned to the Camp Nou after a highly-regarded loan spell at Real Betis, and was rewarded with a contract extension until 2026.

Given the contract extension, Barcelona’s intentions regarding the player seem crystal clear, and Inter may have to look elsewhere if they wish to replace Hakimi with a similarly dynamic wide option.

Emerson started nearly every La Liga match for Real Betis over his two seasons at the club, and his impressive form played a key role in Manuel Pellegrini’s side achieving a sixth place finish last season.
