Inter player Ivan Perisic could be on his way back to Bayern Munich after having enjoyed a loan spell at the club during the 2019-20 season.

German outlet tz.de claim that the Croatian is considered a target for the Bavarian club who wish to bolster their depth in wide areas after the underwhelming loan return of Douglas Costa last season.

Bayern have very strong options in wide attacking areas, with the likes of Kingsley Coman, Serge Gnabry, and Leroy Sane considered starting-quality players, but all three have experienced injury problems in recent seasons which emphasizes the need for a viable backup to them.

The 32-year-old Croatian would likely slot in comfortably, having made 35 appearances during his time on loan in Bavaria during the 2019-20 season in addition to having played for Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund and Wolfsburg earlier in his career.

Perisic is not a player who Inter imminently wish to get rid of given his qualities, his contributions to the Scudetto-winning season, and his status as a fan favourite, but the club would likely listen to offers for him given the size of his current salary and the fact that this would represent a last opportunity to cash in on the player whose contract expires in 2022.
