Chelsea are serious about joining the race for Achraf Hakimi’s signature, and believe that they have an advantage over PSG in that they can offer reported Inter target Emerson Palmieri as part of a deal for the Moroccan.

Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset are reporting that Chelsea have made their interest in the 22-year-old Inter wingback clear in recent days, and one offer suggested by the blues would involve sending Emerson Palmieri to the San Siro along with a transfer fee.

Palmieri is believed to be a target to strengthen Inter’s left side for incoming head coach Simone Inzaghi next season.

The 27-year-old Italian has been a bit part player for the Blues under manager Thomas Tuchel and his predecessor Frank Lampard despite featuring more under Italian former Chelsea bosses Antonio Conte and Maurizio Sarri.

Chelsea have reportedly submitted an offer to Inter which would see Hakimi come to Stamford Bridge and Palmieri go the other way plus €40, although Inter have balked at this offer as they disagree with this €20 million valuation for a player who can leave Stamford Bridge without a transfer free when he contract expires next summer.

In addition to Palmieri, Chelsea are also said to be weighing offering defender Andreas Christensen to Inter, and are hoping that by offering these players they can tempt Inter to sell Hakimi to them ahead of PSG.
