With the futures of many Inter players still uncertain, the departure of Ivan Perisic is something Inter will consider should they convince Ashley Young to extend his contract.

Today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport are reporting that the situations of multiple left-sided players in Inter’s squad are in a chain reaction which is yet to be set off.

Young and Perisic can both play the left-sided wing-back role under manager Simone Inzaghi, and should the former be persuaded to stay then the Nerazzurri will try and sell the latter to a Bundesliga club.

The Englishman has been offered a renewal but with a reduction of salary from €3.2 million per season to €2 million plus bonuses.

Inter are also linked with an interested in Chelsea left-back Emerson Palmieri, with the Blues thought to be asking in the region of €15-20 million for the player.

The expected return of Federico Dimarco from his loan at Hellas Verona is another complicating factor – the Italian can play at left-wing-back but may also be primarily used as a backup for Alessandro Bastoni on the left of a back three.
