Incoming Inter manager Simone Inzaghi has requested that Ashley Young be kept on board for next season, as the Englishman is a part of his plans.

Today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport claim that while a move to newly-promoted Premier League club Watford has appeared close for the 35-year-old in recent days, Inter are also offering an extension of one season to their player.

The extension offered to the English wideman is at reduced salary terms from €3.2 million per season to €2 million, and the English club’s offer would be more financially lucrative for the player.

The new Inter coach would still like to stay at his current club for one more season at least, and will try and persuade him that he has a future with the Nerazzurri.

Another factor in determining Younger’s future at Inter is the anticipated return of left-sided player Federico Di Marco to the San Siro from his loan at Hellas Verona.
