Chelsea are reportedly offering Emerson Palmieri to Inter to try and sweeten an offer for Inter wingback Achraf Hakimi, but Inter prefer to take the player on loan rather than accept a permanent deal for the Italian.

Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia report that Inter are still hoping for a cash-only offer for Hakimi and would prefer a separate loan move for Palmieri.

Palmieri has reportedly been a target for Inter in the past, including as an option for former coach Antonio Conte, and is thought to be wanted as a left-sided option for new manager Simone Inzaghi.

The Italian international made 34 Serie A appearances for Roma and attracted the interest of Chelsea with his performances, although he has fallen out of favour with Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel and wants a move away from Stamford Bridge.

Palmieri is said to prefer Inter as a destination as the club will offer him playing time in his preferred role.

Chelsea are still far from Inter’s €80 million valuation with or without the addition of players, with any offers coming from the English club being valued at around €60 million – it remains to be seen whether they will be willing to approach the Nerazzurri’s valuation in order to make the deal happen.
