Inter are hoping that Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal has a future away from the club after this summer, as the player’s salary size is at odds with their financial plans going forward.

Today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport are reporting that Inter consider the exit of the 34-year-old to be a major priority during the summer transfer window.

The Nerazzurri strongly favour Vidal leaving the club to staying for another season because he is currently on €6 million which they consider far too high for a bench player in light of their financial situation.

As such Inter have advised Vidal’s entourage to begin working towards finding a new club for the midfielder.

The player would reportedly like to stay on with Inter, and it remains to be seen whether the player’s entourage will show the will to work towards alternative solutions.

The primary obstacle to Vidal’s departure is the size of his annual salary – even if many clubs are interested in his signature, few can realistically afford the €6 million he commands annually for a 34-year-old.
