Inter midfielder Joao Mario looks likely to be on his way out of Inter to permanently join Sporting CP in the coming days.

Today’s print edition of Lisbon-based newspaper A Bola are reporting that the only matter left to be settled in negotiations between the two clubs is the precise amount for the transfer fee.

Sporting are not the only club interested in the Portuguese playmaker, but the player’s desire to play for Sporting again next season looks to be the key factor.

With the 28-year-old clear on his intentions, the existence of interest from other clubs looks to be largely irrelevant, and Inter are working to get a deal done which will see the midfielder depart for Portugal on a permanent basis soon.

Sporting are still said to be offering €7 million for the player’s services while Inter are standing firm on €8 million, so the fee will be somewhere between the two amounts for the player who joined the Nerazzurri in 2016 from Sporting.
