Former Inter defender Francesco Colonnese opened about his thoughts regarding new Inter manager Simone Inzaghi, who he sees as comparable to outgoing boss Antonio Conte.

In a revealing interview with Radio Marte, the former Inter man gave Inter supporters hope that this summer will not bring too much upheaval with the departure of Conte.

Colonnese believes that the new manager will tactically bring about “a continuation of Conte’s work” rather than ripping up all of the positive aspects of Inter’s two seasons under Conte.

At Lazio, another of Colonnese’s former clubs, Inzaghi employed a similar formation and counter-attacking style to Conte, and it is clear to see why an experienced player could see a resemblance and believe that the incoming head coach can transfer his success with the Biancocelesti to Inter without having to make major changes in the squad or style of play.

Colonnese made 56 Serie A appearances with Inter across three seasons between 1997 and 2000.
