Another important step has been taken in completing the move of Inter midfielder Joao Mario to Sporting on a permanent basis, with the Nerazzurri agreeing a fee with the Lisbon club.

Lisbon-based newspaper A Bola report in today’s print edition that the two clubs have settled on a fee of €7.5 million euros, midway between Inter’s initial €10 million asking price and Sporting’s first offer of €6 million.

With both clubs happy with the fee and the player keen to make his stay at Sporting a permanent one, it appears to only be a matter of finalizing the details.

One possible sticking point, reported by Porto-based newspaper O Jogo in today’s print edition, concerns the player’s salary.

No agreement has been made between the 28-year-old and the Portuguese club regarding how much his wages will be reduced from his current deal with Inter.

However, it is thought that there is a will to complete the deal from the player who considers Sporting the club of his heart and is happy at the club.
