Inter have begun talks with Lazio about bringing Ecuadorian striker Felipe Caicedo to the Giuseppe Meazza, but the two clubs are currently far apart in valuation, according to reports.

Italian broadcaster SportMediaset are reporting that new Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi wants Caicedo at Inter but that the clubs involved are still far from agreeing on a fee.

The Biancocelesti are demanding a fee of €8 million for the striker while Inter are only willing to offer as much as €3 million for the moment.

The 32-year-old is thought to have the necessary qualities to act as backup for Inter striker Romelu Lukaku in case the Belgian is injured or needs a rest.

The Ecuadorian for his part is said to be keen on reuniting with his former boss, and is hoping that a deal can be reached for him to become an Inter player.

The new Inter coach would welcome a familiar face who understands his methods and tactical system well.
