Napoli are considering an offer for Inter-linked Chelsea left-back Emerson Palmieri, Italian media are reporting.

Today’s print edition of Naples-based newspaper Corriere del Mezzogiorno are reporting that incoming Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti wants a reunion with the Italian defender who worked with him at Roma.

Napoli are preparing a €12 million offer to submit to Chelsea for the player’s signature.

It is not known, however, if the Neapolitan club would be able to afford the Italian’s €4.5-per-season wages, a major obstacle for the deal.

The other major complicating factor for the Partenopei is the fact that Inter have been heavily linked with the player, and may have a potential advantage in the chase to sign him.

Inter are currently negotiating the sale of wingback Achraf Hakimi to Chelsea, a deal which could potentially involve Palmieri going the other way, or persuade Chelsea to send the player to the Giuseppe Meazza over the Stadio Diego Aramando Maradona.
